Building the WINTERSTEIGER Data Cloud for added digital value
Challenge
WINTERSTEIGER was faced with the challenge of making machine data available centrally and across divisions — both to increase internal efficiency and as a basis for new digital services.
This required a scalable DataCloud that maps the entire data path from the machine via gateways to the front end — and at the same time lays the basis for future AI-based applications such as predictive maintenance.
How we helped
In close collaboration with WINTERSTEIGER, prenode developed a first version of DataCloud in just three months. The prototype represents the entire data chain from machine to gateway and cloud to the front end. The result was a robust proof-of-concept that makes internal efficiency potential and marketable features tangible.
Based on this, a roadmap for the next versions was developed, which shows the expansion towards AI functions and data-based services. The result marks the starting point of further collaboration between WINTERSTEIGER and prenode to implement the vision of a scalable DataCloud step by step.
The DataCloud brings us clear advantages: better insights into our machines, more efficient processes, and the basis for new business models. With prenode, we were able to deliver tangible results in a short period of time—pragmatically, quickly, and with a focus on business value.

Results
6+ devices successfully connected & data route validated
In the pilot phase, machines were successfully connected to the DataCloud and the complete end-to-end data flow from machines to the cloud was tested in practice.
4 months from kick-off to test customer operation
This rapid implementation makes it possible to incorporate real feedback from usage at an early stage and to further develop the roadmap in a targeted manner.
Basis for future-proof IoT architecture & digital services
With the first version of the Data Cloud, a technical basis was created that reliably enables future expansion stages, data-based services and AI functions.
